DRT mesh sneakers is a way to go! Nov 30, 2008

When I startered excercising at home using Latin dance workout DVDs I quickly realized that regular sneakers are not comfortable. I read reviews about different types of dance sneakers, then went to the store to try them on. Here is a synopsis: Capesio's were least comfortable of all. Bloch had 2 models that I liked -DRT 0538L and 0528L. To me DRT 0538L holds the foot better and is more comfortable. Sneakers fit very snuggly and you have to go 1 size up of your normal street size. At first I thought I would need to go even 1,5 sizes up. But they do strech a little, and you don't need your foot to wobble while dancing. I think 1 size up is more than enough. The shoe is made of suade and synthetic material which helps it "breathe". Heel cushion is very well made, so as the sole cushioning. I have been using these sneakers for 3 months now and did not notice any signs of wear. They still look new and are very comfortable. I would say this is a perfect sneaker for any type of dancing, especially if you have to learn steps in the begginning.

A must for the frequent dancer Jan 05, 2007
By Laura Angell I bought these shoes to wear to my salsa classes a few years ago. I am impressed with how well they have held up and how comfortable they were from day one. They give me the control to actively dance and are similar enough to my ballroom heels that the transition is easy. If you are dancing frequently in a learning environment, these shoes are fantastic.
I tried these on in a store to find my size and then purchased them online. A little rude to the store, but a must for getting correctly sized shoes at a reasonable price.

Cute, comfy dance shoes Apr 09, 2009
By Lynne M. Barkett I was afraid these would be too small as I ordered just one size larger than my street shoe and so many reviews said to go 1.5 or 2 sizes larger. I normally wear a 7.5 and ordered 8.5. The 8.5 is perfect, but it would be too big if I was wearing these in a real dance class. Please note that these are *dance* shoes. I am wearing them to Zumba class. I tried several other pairs of shoes and they were all too sticky. These allow me to twist and turn easily. I'm really happy with them, but I may go down half a size next time.

Now I can turn ! Mar 27, 2009

These shoes are a must if you have the Tracy Anderson Dance Cardio workout. I kept twisting my knees (a bit uncomfortable!) when trying to learn the choreography for the workout - which has it's good share of turns. Dance turns and running shoes just don't go hand in hand.
I put them on and was so thrilled that i could do a complete turn without injuring my knees =) The workout felt completely different in these shoes. I felt a lot more calf work than I did in my running shoes. Great arch support, very comfortable...Highly recommended!!
Make sure to order a size and a half or two sizes higher than your regular size. I wear 8 1/2 in normal sneaks and ordered a 10 in these shoes. If you wear thick socks then go two sizes up.

Put 'em on--feel right at home! Jun 03, 2010

I just got the S0538L delivered and, of course, couldn't wait to give them a spin.
I read all the other reviews before ordering and actually ordered 1.5 sizes larger than my usual shoes since I have a high arch and wide feet. Well, thanks to the other reviewers for that tip because the pair I got fits perfectly and I feel completely at home in them, just a couple of minutes after putting them on for the first time!
The soles work fantastic on my laminate floors and the relief for my joints is awesome. Just the right amount of grip to be safe but slippery enough on the ball to make turns a real thrill. I thought my previous shoes were pretty OK for Zumba but these are miles above in support, comfort, and lack of drag during moves and slides. I would recommend them to my best friend in a heartbeat.
